The No. 15 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's volleyball team opened the Illinois Wesleyan Classic with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-14) win over Heidelberg.
The Warhawk offense got better as the match went on hitting .289 in set one and .409 in set two before wrapping up the win hitting .481. The UW-W defense held Heidelberg to an attack efficiency of just .071 in the contest.
Kirsten Anderson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) led the Warhawks with 10 kills hitting an impressive .692 in the match. She added four blocks including one solo and an ace.
Jenna Weinfurt (Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial) hit .412, recorded 11 digs and led UW-W with two aces.
The Warhawks will wrap up the Illinois Wesleyan Classic with a pair of matches Saturday.
