Abilene, Texas -- The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team opened the season succumbing 3-0 to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in a contest hosted by Hardin-Simmons University.
UMHB took the lead in the 21st minute with a goal from Kelsey White off an assist by Mackenzie Worthy. At the end of the first period, the Cru led the Warhawks in shots on goal 11-3.
In the 48th mintue, White and Worhy teamed up again with Worhy tallying the goal to exend the lead. Constance White wrapped up the scoring in the 86th minute. UMHB's defense held Whitewater to just five shots in the contest.
The Warhawks remain in Abilene to face host Hardin-Simmons University Saturday, September 3 at 8 p.m.
