Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Battles to Tie at HSU

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team battled to a scoreless tie with Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas Saturday evening. Regular season game formats changed prior to this season removing overtime periods, so the game ended in full time at the 90 minute mark.

The Warhawks withstood a tough HSU program on their home field. The Cowgirls are now 28-0-2 in their last 30 home contests.

The stalemate featured just four shots on goal, two by each squad. UW-Whitewater's net-minder Jude Dobrinska (Milwaukee, Wis./Ronald Reagan College Prep) was called on early turning away a shot on frame in the 12th minute. That was the lone shot on goal in the first half.

Much like the first, Dobrinska was challenged out of the gate. HSU's Randie Dennison launched a high shot in the 48th minute but Dobrinska registered the save to keep the game scoreless.

Megan Howard (Lakeland, Minn./Stillwater Area) made an impact quickly after entering the game in the second half. Just over a minute onto the pitch, Howard fired a shot on frame that was saved by HSU's keeper. Allie Prigge (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) tallied the next best offensive opportunity with a shot on goal in the 83rd minute that went down as a team save.

The Cowgirls posted an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks but the Warhawk defense was up for the challenge, not allowing a single shot on target off a corner kick.
