Women
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field teams competed Wednesday and Thursday in last chance meets at UW-La Crosse and Augustana in advance of next week's NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Brayden Zettle (Monroe, Wis./Monroe) led the Warhawk men with a runner-up finish in the triple jump at UW-La Crosse. He jumped a distance of 47-02.25 (14.38 meters).
Justin Krause (Ixonia, Wis./Pewaukee) and
Josh Krystosek (Palmyra, Wis./Palmyra-Eagle) registered third place finishes at UW-La Crosse. Krause crossed the finish line in 3:49.40 in the 1,500-meter run, while Krystosek tallied a height 6-04.75 (1.95 meters) in the high jump.
Tamir Thomas (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) and
Landon Keefover (Antioch, Ill./Antioch) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 110-meter hurdles at Augustana. Thomas completed the race in a personal-best 14.66 seconds, and Keefover was just behind in 14.68 seconds.
Daustin Martin (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) placed fourth in the hammer throw at UW-La Crosse, collecting a mark of 180-01 (54.88 meters).
Christian Patzka (Black Earth, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) finished fifth in the 1,500-meter run in a career record 3:49.93.
Gracie Holland (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) won the pole vault at UW-La Crosse with a height of 12-01.50 (3.70 meters) to lead the women.
Tina Shelton (Janesville, Wis./Parker) raced to a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash with her time of 12.31 seconds.
Paige Fassbender (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) recorded a 2:11.87 in the 800-meter run to place fifth overall.
Qualifiers for the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships will be announced Friday on NCAA.com.
