The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field teams competed in last chance meets Friday at UW-La Crosse, St. Francis (Ill.) and North Central.

A majority of Warhawks competed at UW-La Crosse's Eagle Open, while UW-W was also represented at North Central's Carius/Gregory Invitational and the St. Francis Last Chance Meet.

UW-Whitewater claimed first place in three events at UWL. D'Angelo Dear (Green Bay, Wis./Preble) won the 100-meter dash in 10.85 seconds after qualifying with a time of 10.78 in his preliminary race. Dear also teamed with Carsen Rindt (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran), Lindsey Henderson-Zintz (Madison, Wis./La Follette) and Victor Rinaldi (Medford, Wis./Medford) to win the 4x100-meter relay in 42.00 seconds. Josh Krystosek (Palmyra, Wis./Palmyra-Eagle) took the high jump with his height of 6-05.00 (1.96 meters).

Tina Shelton (Janesville, Wis./Parker) led the women in La Crosse with a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash. Kylie Jacobs (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) and Katie McNamara (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) each cracked the 1-minute mark in the 400-meter dash. Jacobs placed ninth in 59.68 seconds, while McNamara crossed the finish line in 59.82 seconds, good for 10th.

At North Central, Shelvin Garrett II (Beloit, Wis./Memorial) recorded two triple jumps above 15 meters, including a personal record 49-05.00 (15.06 meters), good for first place at the meet and the No. 2 distance in NCAA Division III to date.

At the St. Francis, Justin Krause (Ixonia, Wis./Pewaukee) posted a career best time for the second straight meet in the 1,500-meter run, crossing the finish line in 3:47.46, good for a top 15 time in the nation. The mark also broke the program's 15-year-old school record of 3:47.69 held by Brian Butzler (2007).

On the women's side, Paige Fassbender (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) entered the nation's top 15 with a personal record time of 2:11.78 in the 800-meter run. The mark is the fourth-fastest outdoor PR in program history.

The Warhawks will compete in more last chance meets Thursday.
