The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field teams hosted its second of three home outdoor meets this month on Friday and Saturday at the Warhawk Invitational and Multi at Rex Foster Track.
 
The Warhawk men finished first in the team standings with 285.16 team points. The women placed second to Division I Marquette with 148.5 points.
 
Six UW-W men finished first in their respective events – Luke Zanis (St. Charles, Ill./North) in the 400-meter dash (49.43), Landon Keefover (Antioch, Ill./Antioch) in the 110-meter hurdles (14.69), Chris Bitz (Brookfield, Wis./East) in the pole vault (14-06.25 / 4.43 meters), Daustin Martin (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) in the shot put (49-08.50 / 15.15 meters) and the hammer throw (175-10 / 53.59 meters) and Curtis Pfeil (West Bend, Wis./West) in the javelin throw (158-09 / 48.38 meters).
 
Jack McGinn (Madison, Wis./McFarland) placed second in the decathlon with a score of 5766, which currently ranks among the top 15 in NCAA Division III.
 
Event winners for the women included Tina Shelton (Janesville, Wis./Parker) in the 100-meter dash (12.09), Kylie Jacobs (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) in the 400-meter dash (1:00.29) and Gracie Holland (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) in the pole vault (12-01.25 / 3.69 meters).
 
Several Warhawks also competed over the weekend at UW-La Crosse's Phil Esten Challenge. Christian Patzka (Black Earth, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) le the group with a personal record time of 9:07.96 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, good for a top 10 time in the nation. Justin Krause (Ixonia, Wis./Pewaukee) finished second in the 1,500-meter run with a mark of 3:56.47.
 
Ari De La Cerda (Milwaukee, Wis./Pewaukee) led the women at UWL with a time of 11:44.29 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, good for second at the meet.
 
The Warhawks host the Drake Alternative Meet Friday, April 29, at 12 p.m. at Rex Foster Track.
