Football Reveals 2022 Schedule

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team has announced its 2022 schedule, which kicks off Saturday, Sept. 3, at national powerhouse St. John's (Minn.).
 
The Warhawks will play four home games and six away games this fall. Information on renewing and purchasing season tickets and parking will be announced after July 1. Fan protocols, including tailgating policies, will be released in the weeks leading up to the start of the season.
 
Two of UW-Whitewater's three non-conference games come against opponents it has faced in each of the last two national semifinals.
 
UW-W's slate begins against St. John's, the defending Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion which reached the second round of the NCAA Playoffs in 2021. The Warhawks and Johnnies played in the semifinal round of the 2019 NCAA Playoffs, when UW-W posted a thrilling 35-32 victory at Perkins Stadium.
 
The Warhawks then host Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas), which has won two of the last three national championships, on Sept. 10 at 12 p.m. at Perkins Stadium. UW-W has faced Mary Hardin-Baylor in each of the last three NCAA Playoffs. The Crusaders won the 2018 and 2021 national semifinals, while the Warhawks took the 2019 national quarterfinal.
 
UW-Whitewater closes the non-conference schedule Sept. 17 by visiting Berry (Ga.), a member of the Southern Athletic Association. The Vikings finished with a 6-4 record last fall, including a 39-7 loss against UW-W at Perkins Stadium.
 
Following a bye week, the Warhawks begin the WIAC schedule Oct. 1 at fellow 2021 NCAA qualifier UW-La Crosse and Oct. 8 at UW-Eau Claire. UW-W returns home Friday, Oct. 14, against UW-Oshkosh for its annual Family Fest game Powered by Generac.
 
UW-Whitewater visits UW-Platteville Oct. 22 before hosting UW-River Falls for Homecoming and Hall of Fame Day on Oct. 29. Following a visit to UW-Stout on Nov. 5, UW-W wraps up the regular season Nov. 12 with a home game against UW-Stevens Point.
 
The Warhawks posted a 13-1 record in 2021, claiming the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship and finishing as a national semifinalist, the program's third straight trip to the fourth round of the national tournament.
