The No. 33 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team took the courts in Hilton Head Island, S.C., for a pair of dual matches Monday, finishing 2-0 for the day against non-conference opponents.
 
The Warhawks (15-2 overall) posted a 9-0 victory against Union (N.Y.) before wrapping up the day with an 8-1 triumph against Wooster (Ohio).
 
Against Union (1-3), the Warhawks swept all three doubles matches. Molly Rueth (Wheaton, Ill./Glenbard West) and Kellie Ha (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) were first on the board with an 8-2 victory at No. 2. Courtney Day (Oshkosh, Wis./North) and Bethany Marshall (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) collected an 8-1 win at No. 3.
 
Autumn Bruno (Milwaukee, Wis./Greenfield Whitnall) and Cassie Lee (Downers Grove, Ill./Timothy Christian) claimed three of their last four games at No. 1 for an 8-5 triumph.
 
Gianna Nikoleit (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community) gave UW-W a 4-0 advantage thanks to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the third position. Bruno clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the first position.
 
Other straight-set winners included Day at No. 5, Bryce Bigelow (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) at No. 6 and Ha at No. 4. Lee dropped her first set before recovering for a 5-7, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6) triumph.
 
In the match against Wooster (8-6), Bruno and Lee, Rueth and Ha and Day and Marshall each captured victories for an early 3-0 lead after doubles play.
 
Bruno was first to finish at No. 1 singles, tallying a 6-3, 6-0 win. Lee posted a 6-3, 6-0 triumph at No. 2 to clinch the dual, and Nikoleit added to the lead with a 6-3, 7-5 victory at No. 3.
 
Marshall and Rueth added wins at the fourth and sixth slots, respectively, to account for the final margin.
 
UW-Whitewater closes its spring trip Thursday with a dual against Allegheny (Pa.) at 2 p.m. Central Time.
