The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team lost a heartbreaker Saturday afternoon at UW-Stevens Point. The Pointers broke the stalemate with a goal with just two seconds remaining in the contest for the 1-0 final.
The Warhawks outplayed UW-SP firing 20 shots including 13 on frame but couldn't find the back of the net. UW-W's defense held the Pointers just 13 shots including six on goal without allowing a single corner kick in the contest.
The final goal came after a foul was called near midfield giving the ball to the Pointers. Rushing to put the ball back in play, UW-SP sent a ball deep into the right side of the box that was headed back across to the other side of goal for a one-timer that just slipped by the diving
Jude Dobrinska (Milwaukee, Wis./Ronald Reagan College Prep).
Allie Prigge (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) led Whitewater offensively with five shots of the team's 13 shots on goal, all of which were turned away by the UW-SP keeper.
