The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team topped Concordia-Moorhead 5-3 on the road Sunday afternoon.
Zack Kristy (Burr Ridge, Ill./Lyons Township) opened the scoring with an unassisted score less than 40 seconds into the game.
Faizan Mohiuddin (South Elgin, Ill./St. Charles North) doubled up the Warhawks scoring off an assist from
Tucker Jahns (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) in the 25th minute.
Concordia cut the UWW lead in half with a goal less than three minutes later, but the Warhawks had the response with an own goal a minute before the break. UW-Whitewater took a 3-1 lead into the intermission.
Just nine seconds into the second half, Concordia-Moorhead scored again. Once again it was Mohiuddin, this time off an assist from
Mariano Carini (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay), with the response in the 57th minute.
Less than a minute later the Cobbers scored against before
Nolan Ehlers (Grayslake, Ill./Warren Township) wrapped up the offensive onslaught beating the Concordia keeper off an assist from
Cooper Re (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) to give UWW the 5-3 lead in the 71st minute.
Three Warhawk keepers saw action in the contest.
Jake King (McHenry, Ill./McHenry West),
Duncan Morgan (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) and
Matthew Vollmer (Lake Zurich, Ill./Lake Zurich) combined for four saves in the contest.
