The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team fell to Augsburg 6-2 on the road Friday night.
The Auggies registered the lone goal of the first half in the 17th minute. The second half was a much different story with an explosion of offense.
Augsburg added three more goals to open the second half making it 4-0.
Faizan Mohiuddin (South Elgin, Ill./St. Charles North) cut into the deficit finding the back of the net off a double assist from
Cooper Re (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) and
Andres Villarreal (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) in the 62nd minute.
Jalen Holley (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa East) pulled UWW to within two just under two minutes later besting the Auggie keeper off assists from
Peyton Nichols (Green Bay, Wis./Bayport) and Mohiuddin.
Augsburg extended the lead in the 65th and added cushion in the 77th for the final.
The Auggies outshot the Warhawks 23-9 including an 8-2 sway in shots on goal.
Jake King (McHenry, Ill./McHenry West) registered a pair of saves in 77 minutes in net for UWW.
Duncan Morgan (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) came in for the final 13 of the contest.
