The No. 9 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's volleyball team fell to the University of Chicago 3-2 (19-25, 10-25, 26-24, 25-17, 15-11) on the road Wednesday night.

UW-W took an early 2-0 lead in the match before Chicago came back with the final three sets to complete the upset.

The Warhawks hit .273 while holding the Maroons to just .088 en route to a 25-19 first set win.
Kirsten Anderson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) bolstered the offensive effort with six kills while committing just a single error in the set.

UW-W used the momentum to roll to a 25-10 second set win. The Warhawks hit .367 in the set. The defense frustrated the Chicago offense allowing just five kills and holding the Maroons to an attack efficiency of -.161.

Chicago extended the match with a 26-24 third set win, and then pushed it to a decisive fifth set after taking set four 25-17.

The Warhawks battled but the Maroons had all of the momentum late in the fifth to take the final set 15-11, and the match.

Anderson led the Warhawks with 14 kills hitting .500 in the match while adding three blocks. Fellow middle hitter
Hannah Proctor (Durand, Ill./Durand) hit .429 with 13 kills and just a single error while posting eight blocks defensively.
Erin McNeil (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) rounded out the double-digit hitters with 11 kills.

KellyAnn Sotiros (New Berlin, Wis./West Allis Hale) registered 32 assists adding a pair of aces and 16 digs.
Morgan Jensen (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) held down the backcourt with 19 digs in the contest.
