The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team handed UW-River Falls its first loss of the season with a 1-0 win on the road Saturday afternoon in the team's Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener.

The Warhawks were dominant in the contest firing 17 shots compared to just five for the Falcons. Whitewater also held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. Eight Warhawks registered shots in the contest.

Maya Rebic (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community). Crossing the ball into the box from the end line,
Nina Malak (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) settled the ball with her back to the goal and found
Allie Prigge (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) to set up a one-on-one with a keeper, a matchup Prigge won easily into the bottom right of goal to give UW-W a lead in the 75
th minute.
