Women Eighth at “Squig” Converse Invitational

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's track and field team totaled 24 team points Saturday to place eighth at the "Squig" Converse Invitational at Kachel Fieldhouse in Whitewater.
 
Gracie Holland (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) and Tina Shelton (Janesville, Wis./Parker) led the Warhawks with top-three finishes in their respective events. Holland improved her season best in the pole vault to a height of 11-06.25 (3.51 meters), good for second place overall. Shelton tallied a personal record time of 8.03 seconds in the 60-meter dash, good for third place in the event.
 
Other point scorers included Paige Fassbender (Slinger, Wis./Slinger), Abigail Missiaen (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) and Kylie Jacobs (Watertown, Wis./Watertown).
 
Fassbender finished fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:26.43, while Missiaen registered a career best in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.57 seconds. Jacobs collected a results of 1:02.26 to finish eighth in the 400-meter dash.
 
The Warhawks head to UW-Stevens Point's Big Dawg Invite next Saturday, Feb. 5, at 10:30 a.m.
