The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team enjoyed a complete performance on both ends of the field Tuesday night in a 4-0 victory against Viterbo in non-conference action at Fiskum Field.
The Warhawks (6-3 overall), who have now won four straight matches, out-shot the V-Hawks 21-2, including a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Anna Brodjian (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) posted the first goal of the contest, which held up as the game-winner, in the third minute to put UW-W ahead early.
Following a pair of UW-Whitewater corner kicks,
Anna Boyd (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) doubled the lead to 2-0 on an assist from
Ally Bosetti (Beloit, Wis./Beloit Turner) in the 20th minute.
Viterbo (7-3) recorded its first shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the Warhawks continued their pressure, tallying seven more shots and one more corner kick in the final 15 minutes of the first half.
UW-Whitewater started the second half similarly to the first. Following a pair of corner kicks in the preceding three minutes,
Olivia May (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn Area) found the back of the net in the 53rd minute.
Carli Nehls (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) was credited with the assist on the play.
The Warhawks continued their strong offensive play throughout the period.
Taylor Carlson (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) scored with just over a minute to play in regulation to account for the final margin.
Leah Eisenbarth (Lake Barrington, Ill./Barrington) and
Drew Antcliff (Kewadin, Mich./Elk Rapids) combined for the shutout in goal, posting one save apiece.
Carlson, May and
Kari Webber (Wheeling, Ill./Wheeling) each finished with three shots in the contest.
UW-Whitewater visits Ripon this Thursday for a non-conference match starting at 7 p.m. The game was originally scheduled to be played Sept. 7.
