The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater erupted for six unanswered goals over the final 65 minutes of action Wednesday night in Madison for a 6-1 triumph at Edgewood in a non-conference match.
The Warhawks (1-0 overall) fell behind 1-0 following a goal by the Eagles (0-1) in the 16th minute.
Joey Pumo (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) started the scoring barrage in the 27th minute with a header into the back of the net, assisted by
Faizan Mohiuddin (South Elgin, Ill./St. Charles North), to level the match.
Just over 12 minutes later,
Evan Donini (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West) put the Warhawks ahead for good on a goal assisted by
Nolan Ehlers (Grayslake, Ill./Warren Township), and
Jacob Mouille (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee) gave UW-W a 3-1 halftime lead with a free kick goal in the 44th minute.
UW-Whitewater found three more goals in the second half, all in a 10-minute span.
Alec Sykes (Milwaukee, Wis./West Allis Hale) took a pass from
Tucker Jahns (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) and scored in the 54th minute, and Jahns made it 5-1 with a tally in the 60th with an assist to
Steven Wright (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake).
Mouille collected his second goal of the contest in the 63rd minute, off an assist from
Ethan Bergen (Watertown, Wis./Watertown), to account for the final margin.
The Warhawks out-shot the Eagles, 27-10, in the match.

Matthew Vollmer (Lake Zurich, Ill./Lake Zurich) and
