The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team started the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference season Saturday with dual victories at UW-Stout and UW-River Falls.
The Warhawks (6-5 overall, 2-0 WIAC) extended their unbeaten streak against conference opponents in dual matches to 104 with the wins.
Against UW-Stout (0-1, 0-1), UW-Whitewater dropped only one game in the three doubles matches combined and only four games in singles play.
Kasey Schlicht (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee) and
Olivia Kraft (Bloomington, Ill./Normal Community) tallied an 8-1 triumph at No. 1 doubles.
Molly Rueth (Wheaton, Ill./Glenbard West) and
Courtney Day (Oshkosh, Wis./North) earned an 8-0 shutout at No. 2, and
Bethany Marshall (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) and
MacKenzie Lindow (East Troy, Wis./East Troy) blanked their opponents at No. 3.
Schlicht, Kraft, Rueth, Marshall, Lindow and Day were victorious at singles in the Nos. 1-6 positions, respectively. Kraft, Rueth and Lindow didn't surrender a single game in their straight-set wins.
In the match against UW-River Falls (0-5, 0-1),
Madalyn Bigelow (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) and
Bryce Bigelow (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) were first on the board for UW-W with an 8-0 triumph at No. 2 doubles.
Jessica Minkov (Schiller Park, Ill./East Leyden) and
Kellie Ha (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) followed suit with an 8-1 victory at No. 3, and
Paige Nierman (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Stevenson) and
Sabrina Palavra (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-4 win.
Palavra made it 4-0 with a victory by injury default at the second singles slot, and Nierman clinched the dual with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at the first position.

Bryce Bigelow (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) completed the day with wins at the Nos. 3-6 spots, respectively.
