The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team was defeated 9-0 against national powerhouse Washington-St. Louis in a dual at Bettendorf Middle School in Bettendorf, Iowa.
The Warhawks dropped to 10-2 with the loss and saw their win streak come to an end at nine matches.
Alex Gray (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) and
Jake Macey (Southampton, England/King Edwards VI) led 2-1 at No. 1 doubles before falling in three consecutive games and dropping their match by an 8-6 score.
The Bears claimed the remaining two doubles matches and clinched the dual with victories in the first two completed singles matches.
Cole Lindwall (Cottage Grove, Wis./Monona Grove) played a highly competitive match at the third singles position. He was edged 7-5, 6-4 by Benjamin van der Sman.
