Track and Field Teams Excel at Rex Foster Twilight

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field teams hosted the annual Rex Foster Twilight Friday at Rex Foster Track.
 
Team scores were not tabulated at the meet.
 
For the men, Dwayne Ford (Racine, Wis./Case) improved his personal record time in the 100-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 10.59 seconds in the preliminary race, good for the No. 2 time in NCAA Division III.
 
Adam Schommer (Freedom, Wis./Freedom) entered the top 10 in the nation with his winning performance in the pole vault. He tallied a height of 15-08.25 (4.78 meters).
 
Carl Wesley Jr. (Madison, Wis./La Follette) posted a season-high long jump of 22-08.50 (6.92 meters), good for second place in the event, and now ranks among the top 15 in Division III. Lucas Skaaland (Westby, Wis./Westby) finished as runner-up in the triple jump with a 46-02.00 (14.07 meters), good for a top-15 national distance.
 
Daustin Martin (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) increased his personal record in the hammer throw by nearly 10 feet, finishing with a 174-02 (53.09 meters), good for third at the meet and a top 10 national mark.
 
On the women's side, Gracie Holland (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) won the pole vault with an outdoor season-best height of 11-06.25 (3.51 meters), good for a top 10 national mark. Shelby Nickels (Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln) won the long jump with an outdoor season-high distance of 18-00.25 (5.49 meters), which ranks among the top 10 in Division III.
 
Other top individual finishers on the women's side included Maddie Keifer (Maple Park, Ill./Kaneland), who finished as runner-up in the triple jump (36-02.75 / 11.04 meters), Abigail Missiaen (Muskego, Wis./Muskego), who placed second in the javelin throw (105-08 / 32.20 meters), Michelle Siciliano (Geneva, Ill./Geneva), who finished third in the 100-meter dash (12.70), and Ari De La Cerda (Milwaukee, Wis./Pewaukee), who placed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:17.61).
 
The women's 4x100-meter relay team improved its season best time, as Siciliano, Nickels, Kylie Jacobs (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) and Jacqueline Kornowski (Green Bay, Wis./Preble) finished the race in 50.59 seconds.
 
The Warhawks continue the outdoor season next Saturday, April 10, at Dubuque's Spartan Invite.
