UW-Platteville Results (5K women)
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field teams continued the outdoor season Saturday at the University of Dubuque's Spartan Invite.
The men won the meet with a team score of 209.50, while the women accumulated 120 points to finish third.
The Warhawk women finished 1-2 in the pole vault as
Gracie Holland (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) and
Sydney Davidson (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) each recorded season bests. Holland won the event with a personal record height of 12-02.00 (3.71 meters), good for the top result in NCAA Division III. Davidson finished second with her height of 11-01.75 (3.40 meters).
Maddie Keifer (Maple Park, Ill./Kaneland) improved her season-best mark in the triple jump to a 36-08.25 (11.18 meters), good for first place and a top-20 national distance. She also finished second in the long jump, matching her personal record in the event with a 17-06.00 (5.33 meters).
Kenni Czarnecki (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) led UW-Whitewater in all three throwing events, including a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a personal record toss of 157-01 (47.87 meters).
Other top finishers included
Paige Fassbender (Slinger, Wis./Slinger), who placed second in the 800-meter run in 2:28.59,
Kylie Jacobs (Watertown, Wis./Watertown), who finished third in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.36, and
Hope Mylin (Algonquin, Ill./Harvest Christian Academy), who ran the 100-meter hurdles in a career-best 16.81, good for third place.
Ari De La Cerda (Milwaukee, Wis./Pewaukee) led a contingent of UW-W runners in the 5,000-meter run at the UW-Platteville Invitational, placing second out of 20 runners with a personal-best time of 19:06.37.
On the men's side, jumpers
Lucas Skaaland (Westby, Wis./Westby),
Curtis Pfeil (West Bend, Wis./West) and
Josh Krystosek (Palmyra, Wis./Palmyra-Eagle) recorded strong performances. Krystosek posted a career-best height of 6-09.75 (2.08 meters) in the high jump, good for first place at the meet and No. 1 in NCAA Division III. Skaaland surged into the nation's top 10 with his season-best mark of 46-10.75 (14.29 meters), good for first place.
Pfeil won the long jump with a season-best distance of 22-07.25 (6.89 meters), good for a top-20 national mark.
Jack Scully (Oshkosh, Wis./West) tallied a personal record 15-05.00 (4.70 meters) in the pole vault to finish second at the meet and enter the nation's top 15.
Daustin Martin (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) improved his career best toss in the hammer throw with a 176-04 (53.76 meters), good for first place and a top-15 national mark.
David Fassbender (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:40.17, which ranks among the nation's top five.

Luke Zanis (St. Charles, Ill./North) in the 400-meter dash (51.39),
Justin Krause (Ixonia, Wis./Pewaukee) in the 1,500-meter run (4:04.86),
Adam Schommer (Freedom, Wis./Freedom) in the pole vault (15-05.00 / 4.70 meters) and the 4x100-meter relay team of
Thomas Kelly (Brown Deer, Wis./Brown Deer), Ford,
Griffin Gawenda (Grayslake, Ill./North) and
Victor Rinaldi (Medford, Wis./Medford) (42.37).
The Warhawks host the Warhawk Invitational and Multi next Friday and Saturday, April 16-17, at Rex Foster Track.
