Women’s Tennis Falls at Division I Milwaukee

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team played its second straight scholarship opponent Sunday, falling 7-0 against Division I Milwaukee in a dual at Elite Sports Club – River Glen in Milwaukee.
 
The Warhawks (0-2 overall) were defeated 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles and 6-0 at the third position. By claiming the best-of-three doubles series, the Panthers earned the doubles point for the dual, which was scored by Division I rules.
 
In singles play, Sabrina Palavra (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) forced a tiebreaker in the second set, but was ultimately outlasted at the No. 4 slot. Molly Rueth (Wheaton, Ill./Glenbard West) took four games in her first set at No. 5.
 
UW-Whitewater returns to action Feb. 26 at Division I Northern Illinois. The dual is slated for 4 p.m. at Chick Evans Field House in DeKalb, Ill.
