Men’s Tennis Closes Weekend With Loss

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team was defeated 7-0 by NAIA opponent Cardinal Stritch in a dual at Lake Geneva Tennis in Lake Geneva, Wis.
 
The Warhawks (1-1 overall) claimed one doubles match, but dropped the other two as the Wolves claimed the doubles point. The match was scored under Division I rules, so each doubles match was decided by one set.
 
Noah Guillermo (Muskego, Wis./Marquette University HS) and Cole Lindwall (Cottage Grove, Wis./Monona Grove) posted a 7-6 (5) victory at the second doubles position for UW-Whitewater's lone match win of the day against the scholarship program.
 
Alex Gray (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) pushed his match at No. 1 singles to a third set super tiebreaker, where he was outlasted, 11-9. Brayden Kopp (Roselle, Ill./Bellbrook (Ohio)) won four games in each of his two sets at No. 5.
 
UW-Whitewater returns to Lake Geneva Tennis Friday for a dual against Carthage. First serve is slated for 5 p.m.
