The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team scored three second-half goals Thursday afternoon to defeat Finlandia (Mich.) 3-0 in a Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Championship quarterfinal at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va.

With the win, the third-seeded Warhawks (15-5-1 overall) advance to the semifinals, where they'll face No. 2 seed Mary Washington Friday at 1 p.m. Central Time.

Evan Donini (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West) tallied the game-winning goal in the 62nd minute, finding a pass from Zack Kristy (Burr Ridge, Ill./Lyons Township) to give UW-Whitewater the lead for good.

Kristy doubled the lead in the 67th on an assist from Matthew Waters (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South).

Jacob Mouille (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee) capped the scoring for the Warhawks with a goal off a free kick in the 82nd minute.

The Warhawks held the Lions (6-12 overall) to three shots, including one on goal, and didn't allow a Finlandia corner kick.

UW-Whitewater totaled 25 shots, including 10 on goal, and held a 10-1 advantage on shots in the first half without finding the back of the net.

The Warhawks continued their pressure early in the second half, and the team's fourth shot on goal of the period found the back of the net.

Friday's contest will be the first ever between UW-Whitewater and Mary Washington. The Eagles enter the match with an 8-5-2 record and have lost two straight matches entering the postseason.
