The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's swimming and diving teams hosted UW-La Crosse Saturday for a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual at the Williams Center Pool.
 
The Warhawk men were defeated 164-110, while the women fell by a 196-82 score.
 
Hunter Hayberger (Sandusky, Ohio/Sandusky) starred for the men, winning the 100-, 200- and 500-yard freestyle events. He won the 200 free by more than three seconds with his time of 1:49.02, and claimed the 500 free in 5:03.16.
 
Other first-place finishers for the men included Zach Miller (Saukville, Wis./Port Washington) in the 100-yard freestyle, Tyler Popke (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.44) and Donny Gramer (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:21.85).
 
The Warhawks swept the relay events as Miller, Hayberger, Tony Mrozowski and Gramer combined for a time of 3:20.41 in the 400-yard freestyle relay, touching the wall more than six seconds faster than the runner-up. Miller, Popke, Ethan Coons (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) and Gramer took the 400-yard medley relay in 3:42.54, more than four seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
 
Anna Yeazel (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) and Jaclyn Fohlmeister (Lakemoor, Ill./Wauconda) led the women by placing first in one event apiece. Yeazel took the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:11.87, while Fohlmeister touched the wall first in the 100-yard freestyle. Yeazel added a runner-up finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, completing the race in 2:36.23.
 
Gianna Gnewuch (Madison, Wis./Verona Area) and Abby Thompson (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) each finished as runners-up in a pair of individual events. Gnewuch placed second in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke races, posting times of 1:02.79 and 2:16.72, respectively. Thompson finished the 100-yard butterfly in 1:05.37 and the 200-yard butterfly in 2:23.07.
 
Gnewuch, Yeazel, Ciara Hynes (Eureka, Mo./Eureka) and Morgan Nabors (Spring Green, Wis./River Valley) won the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:16.46, more than seven seconds ahead of the runner-up.
 
UW-Whitewater hosts UW-Stevens Point next Saturday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. at the Williams Center.
