The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team pushed its active win streak against Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents to 115 dual matches Tuesday with a 9-0 victory at UW-Stevens Point.
The Warhawks (9-0 overall, 5-0 WIAC) took all three doubles points to start the match with a 3-0 advantage.
Molly Rueth (Wheaton, Ill./Glenbard West) and newly-minted All-American
Cassie Lee (Downers Grove, Ill./Timothy Christian) put UW-W on the board with an 8-2 triumph at the second position.
Bryce Bigelow (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) and
Madalyn Bigelow (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) combined for an 8-4 win at the third position, and
Olivia Kraft (Bloomington, Ill./Normal Community) and
Kellie Ha (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) posted an 8-5 victory at the first position.
Rueth started UW-Whitewater in singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5, and Lee clinched the dual with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 1.
Zenia Barretto (Dubai, United Arab Emirates/Gems Wellington International School) collected a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 6, and
Kellie Ha (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) added to the lead with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4.
Gianna Nikoleit (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community) tallied a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at No. 2. Kraft accounted for the final margin with a 6-4, 7-5 victory at the No. 3 slot.
The Warhawks host the Warhawk Fall Invitational this Friday and Saturday at the Warhawk Outdoor Tennis Complex. Participating teams include Cardinal Stritch, Carleton, Lewis, Northern Illinois, Olivet Nazarene, Roosevelt and St. Francis (Ill.).
