The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team closed out a stretch of playing eight true road matches in 17 days Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 loss at Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.).
The Warhawks (11-5-1 overall) were limited to a season-low four shots, including one on goal, in the contest.
Goalkeeper
Jake King (McHenry, Ill./McHenry West) totaled a season-high nine saves to keep UW-Whitewater within striking distance.
Evan Donini (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West) recorded the lone shot on goal in the 48th minute following a foul by the Gusties (10-4).
Matthew Waters (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South),
Tucker Jahns (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) and
Nolan Ehlers (Grayslake, Ill./Warren Township) also recorded shot attempts in the match.
Following a scoreless first half, Gustavus Adolphus found the back of the net in the 58th minute to take the lead for good.
The Warhawks return home this Friday for a match against Augsburg (Minn.). Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. at Fiskum Field.
