The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team is No. 1 in the Lindy's Sports Division III Preseason Top 25, which is included in the magazine's 2020 College Football Preview issue.
 
The Warhawks are also first in the 2020 College Football America Yearbook Division III preseason Top 30.
 
UW-Whitewater made its 10th appearance in the Stagg Bowl, the NCAA Division III national championship game, in 2019. The Warhawks finished the season with a 13-2 record, including a 6-1 mark to earn a share of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship.
 
The Warhawks are scheduled to begin the 2020 season Sept. 5 at Carthage. The team's home opener is slated for Sept. 12 against Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.) at Perkins Stadium.
