2020 Hampshire Honor Society List
Ten seniors on the 2019 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team were named to the 2020 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society by the NFF and the College Football Hall of Fame.
Linebacker
Matt Anderson (Rockford, Ill./Lutheran), offensive lineman
Bryan Behrendt (Westchester, Ill./Nazareth Academy), linebacker
Jacob Erbs (Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg), defensive back
Jacob Frey (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran HS), linebacker
Graham Hevel (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg), linebacker
Derek Hoppe (Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine), wide receiver
Nathaniel Osterloo (Mt. Horeb, Wis./Mt. Horeb), defensive back
Garrett Purdy (Naperville, Ill./Central), offensive lineman
Matthew Saager (Lodi, Wis./Lodi) and defensive back
Nate Tranel (Lancaster, Wis./Lancaster) were rewarded for their athletic and academic success as members of the honor society.
The Hampshire Honor Society is comprised of student-athletes from all divisions of college football who maintained at least a 3.2 cumluative grade point average during their college careers. Members must have completed their final year of athletic eligibility and be of senior academic standing.
A total of 1,432 student-athletes from 364 schools qualified for membership in the society's 14th year of existence.
All 10 honorees helped the Warhawks finish as national runner-up after reaching Stagg Bowl XLVII for the program's 10th appearance in the NCAA Division III championship game. The team posted a 13-2 record and claimed the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title with a 6-1 league record.
