NCGA All-America Release – March 25
Three members of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnastics team earned Division III All-America honors from the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association for their performances during the 2020 regular season.
Junior
Blaise Wilson (Thornton, Colo./Legacy) and freshman
Karina Sabol (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) were named first team All-America, while senior
Lauren Marshall (Winthrop Harbor, Ill./Zion-Benton Township) was selected as a second team All-American.
All three gymnasts helped the Warhawks finish second at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship/National Collegiate Gymnastics Association West Regional.
Wilson led all Division III competitors in the all-around in 2020 with a season average score (SAS) of 38.4563. She claimed the WIAC/NCGA West title in the all-around competition and scored above a 38 at four of her last five meets.
Sabol led the West Region and finished third nationally on floor exercise with a 9.7688. The WIAC/NCGA West champion in the event, Sabol tallied scores of 9.425 or higher on floor at each meet this season.
Marshall tied for second in Division III on vault with a 9.7438 SAS. She finished third to claim All-WIAC accolades on vault for the third straight season. Marshall recorded scores of 9.425 or higher on vault at all 2020 meets.
