University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer sophomore Jake King (McHenry, Ill./McHenry West) was selected as American Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for matches played through Sunday of last week.
 
King, a goalkeeper, posted his fifth shutout in 13 career matches in the Warhawks' 4-0 triumph over Westminster (Mo.) in the team's season opening match at Lake Geneva's Badger High School.
 
King, who totaled five saves in the effort, helped UW-Whitewater record its seventh straight win dating back to last season, Division III's longest active streak.

The Warhawks are in their first year of affiliate membership with the ACAA.
 
UW-Whitewater, now 2-0 overall, visits Illinois Tech this Saturday at 7 p.m.
