Men's Soccer Sets New School Record with 1-0 Win

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team defeated St. John's University by a score of 1-0 on Sunday.
 
With this win, the Warhawks have set a new school record for the longest unbeaten streak with 17 wins. The previous record was set in 2007 with a total of 16 wins.
 
UW-Whitewater improves to 10-0-1 as Saint John's drops to 5-2.
 
UW-W recorded five shots on goal in the first half of the game, but were unable to find the back of the net to give them the lead as the first 45 minutes remained scoreless.
 
The first shot on goal in the second half of the game came from Henry Raymonds (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield East), but he was unable to get it past the goalkeeper.
 
Two minutes later in the 81st minute, Raymonds was able to score the first and only goal of the game with an assist from Garrett Morgando (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North).
 
With the help of Jake King (McHenry, Ill./McHenry West) tying his career high of six saves, the Warhawks would hold onto the lead to win the contest 1-0.
 
UW-Whitewater will travel to Decorah, Iowa on Wednesday to play Luther College at 5 p.m.
