Men's Soccer Continues Unbeaten Streak at Home

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater defeated the University of Minnesota-Morris by a score of 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. UW-Whitewater has shut out seven out of the 10 teams they have faced this season. This win also ties the school record for the longest unbeaten streak at 16 (15-0-1).

The Warhawks extend their season record to 9-0-1 while the Cougars drop to 1-7.

UW-W got the game moving early as they recorded their first goal in the fifth minute. Trevor Johnson (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) was able to score right off a free kick.

In the 38th minute, Whitewater got into a battle at the net. Jackson Ranck (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) recorded a shot on goal, the goalkeeper deflected it, and Kortu Josiah (Oostburg, Wis./Oostburg) was able to use the rebound to score his first goal of the season.

After a beautiful pass from Ben Weltzien (Green Bay, Wis./Green Bay Preble) in the 51st minute, Yoshihiko Fukushima (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig) was able to put it into the back of the net for a 3-0 lead.

Even though no additional points were scored, UW-W continued to control the game in the second half as most of play was on the Cougar's side of the field.
