The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team shutout Alma College with a score of 3-0 in its home opener on Monday at Fiskum Field.

The Warhawks move to 2-0 in their season while the Scots move to 1-2.

Kevin Mesich (West Allis, Wis./West Allis Hale) scored the first goal of the game, and the first of his season, in the 11th minute. He was assisted by teammates
Brad Ludwig (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) and
Andres Villarreal (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's). The quick action left defenders with little time to react, and the ball was low and inside for the goal.

The next goal came in the 22nd minute from Ludwig. This was his third goal of the season after scoring a pair in Sunday's game. The assists came from Villarreal and
Taylor Ortiz (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East), similar to the first goal, with quick and short passes from each other.

UW-W continued to control possession of the game, recording their third and final goal of the day in the 40th minute. The point came from junior
Jackson Ranck (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) with an assist from
Steven Wright (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake).
The Warhawks outshot the Scots 18-5 in the match, including 12-3 on goal.
