Women's Soccer Falls to Carthage College

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team fell to Carthage College by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday night.
 
The Warhawks dip to 2-4-1 while the Lady Reds improve to 3-2.
 
UW-W attacked early on when Jenel Karow (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) broke away from the pack at midfield and made her way to the goal. She was able to take her time to draw the goalkeeper out of the box and make a clean shot to put the Warhawks up 1-0 after :49 seconds of play.
 
Carthage was able to score in the 21st minute after getting through the defenders to tie the game at 1-1.
 
The rest of the first half remained back and forth as both teams recorded six shots apiece.
 
In the second half, Carthage and Whitewater continued to show how evenly they were matched as Carthage's next goal did not come until the 70th minute.
 
Despite the 2-1 loss, UW-W outshot the Lady Reds 14-10, but were unable to score with the three shots recorded on goal. Sara Klimisch (Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Indian Trail High School and Academy) recorded four saves throughout the game.
 
UW-Whitewater will travel to Millikin on Saturday for a match beginning at 2 p.m.
