Women's Soccer Drops Road Match to DePauw

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team fell to DePauw University by a score of 4-0. This was the second game that the women played at the "W" Challenge over the weekend.

The Warhawks dropped to 2-3-1 and the Tigers improve to 3-4 in their respective seasons.

UW-W tried to attack early, as Katy Kusswurm (South Elgin, Ill./St. Charles North), Anna Brodjian (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) and Savannah Curtis (Lodi, Wis./Lodi) recorded shots on goal in the first 11 minutes of the game.

DePauw's first goal came in the 32nd minute after a shot was rebounded from the goalkeeper, Sara Klimisch (Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Indian Trail High School and Academy), and the offense was able to sneak it past her.

The Tigers struck early in the second half, as they were able to score a goal in the first 42 seconds. Olivia May (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn Area) had a shot along with a shot on goal but was unable to score in the following two minutes.

The third goal came in the 57th minute, after a Warhawks' corner kick was sent downfield. Boyd, Brodjian and Anna Perona (Chicago, Ill./Loyola Academy) recorded shots on goal in the remainder of the game before DePauw scored their fourth and final goal in the 85th minute.

The Warhawks had 13 shots, including eight on goal, but DePauw's goalkeeper was able to save each one. Klimisch recorded three saves in Sunday's contest.
