Ceballos Scores Game Winner as Men's Soccer Moves to 5-0

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team faced Marian College on Wednesday night. The Warhawks remain undefeated as they beat Marian 3-2.
 
UW-Whitewater moves to 5-0 in their season while Marian dropped to 3-2.
 
The majority of the first half was back and forth between the two teams. Collectively, ten shots were taken before the first goal came from Marian in the 38th minute. The goal came after a penalty kick and Jake King (McHenry, Ill./McHenry West) was unable to make the save.
 
UW-W fired right back as Steven Wright (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake) scored about 30 seconds later with an assist from Brad Ludwig (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly). Play would remain tied heading into the second half.
 
Similar to the first half of the game, play remained back and forth and the score remained 1-1 until the 69th minute. The Marian goalie was able to deflect Kevin Mesich's (West Allis, Wis./West Allis Hale) shot, but Hozai Ceballos (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig) was able to use it to score Whitewater's second point of the match.
 
Late in the 71st minute, Ceballos was able to score the eventual game-winning goal. This time, with a direct assist from Mesich.
 
Marian had not given up and managed to score a goal in the 78th minute. UW-Whitewater recorded 12 shots on goal, doubling Marian's six to win the game 3-2.
 
UW-Whitewater has a busy weekend ahead, as they travel to Edgewood on Friday and Rockford, Ill. on Saturday for matches starting at 7 p.m. On Sunday, they will host Olivet College at Fiskum Field beginning at 12 p.m.
