The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field teams competed Friday on the second day of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Junior
Abbie Felton (Burlington, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) of the women's team advanced to Saturday's final in the 400-meter dash, qualifying seventh with a time of 56.21 seconds. She finished third in her heat after moving from the back of the pack to the top three in the final 100 meters of the preliminary.
On the men's side, two Warhawks participated in the high jump. Sophomore
Quinn Halversen (Rockford, Ill./Christian) cleared a height of 6-08.00 (2.03 meters) on his third attempt, good for ninth place overall. Senior
Dylan Ferger (Beloit, Wis./Beloit Turner) placed 12th with a 6-06.00 (1.98 meters) on his first attempt.

Landon Zimmerman (New Glarus, Wis./New Glarus) finished 17th in the shot put with a toss of 50-11.50 (15.52 meters), moving up three spots from his initial seed.

Alex Duff (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) took part in the 110-meter hurdles, but did not finish the preliminary race.

Felton is slated to compete in the women's 400-meter dash final at 12:10 p.m. Central, and Duff wraps up Warhawk competition at 1:25 p.m. in the 400-meter hurdles final.
