The No. 36 Warhawks (13-12) fell to No. 27 Carleton College (20-2) in the third match of the season between the two regional opponents.

The Warhawks started out with a lone point in doubles.  Sophomore Paige Nierman (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Stevenson) and freshman Molly Rueth (Wheaton, Ill./Glenbard West) claimed a dominant 8-1 victory in the third slot to avoid a sweep heading into singles.

In singles, senior Gabi Kitchell (Wausau, Wis./D.C. Everest) claimed a 6-0, 6-3 victory in the top slot.  The Warhawks pushed three other singles contest to three sets, but were unable to claim a point before the Knights claimed the decisive fifth point.

The Warhawks have concluded team play for the season.  Kitchell will return to the court May 23rd in Kalamazoo, Mich. for the NCAA Individual Tournament.  Match times are to be determined.
