The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team continued their Wisconsin road trip Sunday morning against UW-Eau Claire.

The Warhawks (13-5) defeated their rival Blugolds (13-7) in a 6-3 battle that saw the Warhawks claim their fourth straight victory off an impressive singles performance.

The Warhawks started off with a lone victory in doubles, thanks to junior
Zach Wood (Downers Grove, Ill./South) and freshman
Noah Guillermo (Muskego, Wis./Marquette University HS) taking an 8-5 win in the third slot.

They bounced back in singles, taking the first three points. Senior
Brandon Dechter (Mundelein, Ill./Carmel Catholic) took a 7-6 (3), 6-3 victory in the second slot, freshman
Ryan Mitchell (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) a 6-3, 6-3 win in the third, and freshman
Alex Gray (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) a 6-1, 7-5 victory in the fourth match to put the Warhawks just shy of clinching the match.

Brendan Pietila (Sussex, Wis./Arrowhead) clinched the match in a tense 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2) affair in the fifth slot. The Warhawks would go on to take five of six singles matches

The Warhawks will hit the road again to St. Louis, Mo., Friday at 2 p.m. to face down nationally-ranked No. 6 Washington-St. Louis.
