The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field teams hosted a meet for the third time this season Saturday at the Midwest Elite Invitational at Kachel Fieldhouse.
The No. 5 Warhawk men placed second with 99.50 points, while the 24th-ranked women finished seventh with 35.50 points.
Senior
Dylan Ferger (Beloit, Wis./Beloit Turner) matched his personal record in the high jump with a height of 6-08.75 (2.05 meters) to win the event. Senior
Robert Starnes (Green Bay, Wis./Green Bay Preble) finished second with the same mark, a season best. Both Ferger and Starnes currently rank among the top 20 in the nation with the result.
Sophomore
David Fassbender (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) raced to a career-best 14:39.94 in the 5,000-meter run, good for third place overall. The mark currently ranks among the top 10 in NCAA Division III.
Junior
Alex Duff (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) placed second in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.28 seconds, and freshman
Landon Keefover (Antioch, Ill./Antioch) tallied a personal record time of 8.31, which currently ranks among the top 25 in the country.
Junior
Zach Jasinski (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) improved his season-best height in the pole vault with a 16-06.00 (5.03 meters), good for first place. The result currently ranks second in the nation.
Sophomore
Brian Kuehl (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) finished third in the 800-meter run, completing the race in 1:55.93. Sophomore
Landon Zimmerman (New Glarus, Wis./New Glarus) won the shot put with his toss of 49-07.75 (15.13 meters).
Junior Abbie Felton registered her best time of the season in the 400-meter dash, a 57.74, to win the event and solidified her position among the top 10 in NCAA Division III in the event.
Other top-five finishers included sophomore Raevin Peek and freshman Brooke Walling, who tied for fourth with a matching height of 5-01.00 (1.55 meters). Freshman Kailey Reynolds placed fifth in the 60-meter dash in a season-best 8.03 seconds, and sophomore Shelby Nickels finished third in the long jump with an 18-02.50 (5.55 meters).
The Warhawks visit UW-Oshkosh for the Titan Invitational next Saturday for their final tune-up prior to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships. Events begin at 10 a.m.
