The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up competition Saturday with several impressive performances on the second and final day of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships (Presented by Culver's) at Kachel Fieldhouse.
The Warhawk men finished fourth with 88 points, only two out of third place, while the women earned 30.50 points to place seventh.
Senior
Dylan Ferger (Beloit, Wis./Beloit Turner) led a group of four UW-Whitewater placers in the high jump with his first WIAC championship and third career all-conference honor on a personal record height of 6-09.50 (2.07 meters). Sophomores
Quinn Halversen (Rockford, Ill./Christian) and
Jake Lautenschlager (Omro, Wis./Omro) tied for fourth with matching heights of 6-03.50 (1.92 meters), and freshman
Atty Wagner (Shawano, Wis./Shawano) finished eighth at 6-01.50 (1.87 meters).
Junior
Tanner Stephens (Nekoosa, Wis./Nekoosa) and sophomore
Lucas Skaaland (Westby, Wis./Westby) finished 3-4 in the triple jump. Stephens garnered All-WIAC accolades with a season-best 46-02.75 (14.09 meters), while Skaaland tallied a personal record 46-00.00 (14.02 meters) for his second career podium finish.
Junior
Alex Duff (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) and freshman
Landon Keefover (Antioch, Ill./Antioch) placed third and fifth, respectively, in the 60-meter hurdles. Duff recorded a time of 8.19 seconds, while Keefover finished with an 8.31, 14-hundredths faster than his preliminary time.
Sophomores
Dwayne Ford (Racine, Wis./Case) and
Tyreik Thomas (Racine, Wis./Case) earned spots on the podium in the 60-meter dash. Ford crossed the finish line in 6.96 seconds, good for fourth place, while Thomas tallied a 7.05, good for seventh.
Sophomore
Daustin Martin (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) earned a career best in the weight throw with a 55-07.00 (16.94 meters), good for sixth place. Sophomore
Landon Zimmerman (New Glarus, Wis./New Glarus) earned his second podium finish of the meet with a 54-07.25 (16.64 meters), good for eighth.
Sophomore
David Fassbender (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) placed fifth in the 3,000-meter run in a career-best time of 8:33.09, and junior
Jake Schneider (Plymouth, Wis./Plymouth) finished sixth in the 200-meter dash in a season-best time of 22.46.

Tyler Theel (Wauconda, Ill./Wauconda), freshman
Josiah Vogel (Rockford, Ill./Rockford Christian), Keefover and junior
Alec Masters (Port Washington, Wis./Port Washington) compiled a season-best mark of 3:22.29, good for sixth place.
Junior Abbie Felton earned her second top-five finish of the meet with a fourth-place showing in the 200-meter dash. She crossed the finish line in a season-best 26.01 seconds. Freshman Kailey Reynolds reached the podium in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.99 seconds.
Felton also anchored the 4x400-meter relay to a fifth-place finish in a season-best 4:02.10. She was joined by junior Alissa Korslin, freshman Kylie Jacobs and junior Megan Hering.
Several Warhawks will compete next week in last chance/final qualifying meets at UW-Platteville on Friday, March 1, and at UW-Stevens Point on Saturday, March 2.
