Men Second, Women Third at UW-Oshkosh

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field team competed in their final meet prior to next week's conference championship Saturday at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge in Oshkosh, Wis.
 
The Warhawk men placed second with 106 points, while the women finished third with 45 points.
 
On the men's side, junior Zach Jasinski (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) broke his own school record in the pole vault with a 17-00.75 (5.20 meters), good for first place at the meet. The height is currently No. 2 in the nation. Junior Adam Schommer (Freedom, Wis./Freedom) finished fourth in the pole vault with a 14-07.50 (4.46 meters).
 
Junior Alex Duff (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) led the men, topping a field of 36 runners in the 400-meter dash with a personal record result of 49.80, good for a top 15 time in NCAA Division III.
 
Freshman Landon Keefover (Antioch, Ill./Antioch) finished as runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles in a season-best 8.30 seconds, good for a top 25 mark in the nation. Sophomore Lucas Skaaland (Westby, Wis./Westby) placed fourth in 8.60.
 
Three Warhawks placed among the top five in the high jump, including senior Dylan Ferger (Beloit, Wis./Beloit Turner), who was fourth with a 6-07.50 (2.02 meters), sophomore Quinn Halversen (Rockford, Ill./Christian), who was third with a 6-07.50 (2.02 meters), and sophomore Jake Lautenschlager (Omro, Wis./Omro), who was fourth at 6-05.50 (1.97 meters).
 
Senior Robert Starnes (Green Bay, Wis./Green Bay Preble) competed in the long jump for the first time this season, posting a 22-04.25 (6.81 meters), good for fourth place. Freshman Curtis Pfeil (West Bend, Wis./West) tallied a fifth-place finish in the triple jump with his mark of 44-02.50 (13.47 meters).
 
Sophomore Landon Zimmerman (New Glarus, Wis./New Glarus) posted a career-best toss of 57-00.00 (17.37 meters) in the weight throw, good for a third-place finish in the event. He added a 51-03.00 (15.62 meters) in the shot put, good for fourth place.
 
For the women, junior Abbie Felton tallied a season-best 57.40 in the 400-meter dash to remain among the top 10 in the nation in the event. Junior Megan Hering placed fifth in the same event with a time of 1:01.28.
 
Sophomore Sydney Davidson won the pole vault with a personal record height of 11-08.00 (3.56 meters). Junior Madi McDonald tied for fifth with an 11-02.25 (3.41 meters).
 
Felton also placed fourth in the 200-meter dash in 26.17 seconds. Freshman Brooke Walling finished fourth in the high jump with a height of 5-01.25 (1.56 meters).
