The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team played a pair of matches on the second day of the Illinois Wesleyan Tournament in Bloomington, Ill. They competed against Aurora (Ill.) in the morning before playing host Illinois Wesleyan in the afternoon.
The Warhawks (5-2) swept Aurora (Ill.) 25-22, 25-23, 25-16, before dropping a hard fought 3-2 match against 10th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan 25-13, 21-25, 25-23, 20-25, 8-15.
Against Aurora (2-4), UW-Whitewater committed a combined three attack errors in the first and third sets and finished with 11 team blocks. Freshman outside hitter
Emily Gillen (Richfield, Wis./Slinger) led the offense with a career-high nine kills on a .381 hitting percentage. Freshman outside hitter
Erin McNeil (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) tallied eight kills and two blocks, and junior outside hitter
Rachel Butterfield (Milton, Wis./Milton) collected seven kills on a .467 hitting percentage. Junior middle hitter
Ashton Doll (Lancaster, Wis./Lancaster) recorded six kills and a team-best six blocks.

Brittany Robinson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) finished with 20 digs to lead the defense. Freshman setter
Paige Manssen (Bull Valley, Ill./McHenry West) totaled nine digs to go along with her team-best 18 assists, and junior defensive specialist
Elizabeth Tworek (Lake Zurich, Ill./Carmel Catholic) posted eight digs.
Against Illinois Wesleyan (5-2), McNeil led the team with a career-best 17 kills and added 13 digs for her first double-double. Doll finished with 11 kills and six blocks, and senior middle hitter
Kelley Berk (Cedarburg, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) contributed 11 kills on a .370 hitting percentage to go along with four digs and two blocks. Manssen put up a double-double with 22 assists and 10 digs to go along with two service aces, and freshman
KellyAnn Sotiros (New Berlin, Wis./West Allis Hale) established career highs in both assists (24) and digs (21) for a double-double.
Robinson paced the defense with a season-best 34 digs. Tworek generated 16 digs, and freshman outside hitter
Emma Aske (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) tallied eight digs to go along with her six kills and three blocks.
Following the conclusion of the tournament, Robinson and Doll were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Warhawks return to Russell Arena Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Elmhurst (Ill.). Fans are encouraged to don red, white and blue for America Day at the arena.
