The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's volleyball team began play in the Illinois Wesleyan Tournament Friday night against Ohio Wesleyan in Bloomington, Ill.

The Warhawks (4-1) swept the Bishops (2-4) 25-16, 25-12, 25-22 to earn a convincing victory in their first road game of the young season.

Freshman outside hitter
Emma Aske (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) led the team in kills with seven. Junior middle hitter
Ashton Doll (Lancaster, Wis./Lancaster) was an asset up front with five blocks and four kills on the evening.

KellyAnn Sotiros (New Berlin, Wis./West Allis Hale)Â and
Paige Manssen (Bull Valley, Ill./McHenry West) contributed 14 and 10 assists respectively in the affair. Sotiros added in a team-leading five aces for the match as well.

Brittany Robinson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) had a team-leading 16 digs and two aces to the victorious effort.

The Warhawks will continue play at the Illinois Wesleyan Tournament tomorrow. They start at 11 a.m. against Aurora (Ill.) and conclude the tournament in the afternoon at 2 p.m. against No. 10 Illinois Wesleyan.
