The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's track and field team collected All-America honors in four events Saturday on its way to a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at UW-La Crosse.
The Warhawks totaled 20 points, only seven shy of a top-three finish.
Senior
Parker Witt (Appleton, Wis./Appleton North) claimed his third career national championship to lead UW-Whitewater, winning the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.74 seconds in his final collegiate race. He concluded his standout, four-year run with 12 All-America medals.
Sophomore
Alex Duff (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) recorded All-America accolades in two events to bring his total in the calendar year to four. He placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 14.28, and finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a 51.62 to break the 18-year-old school record in the event.
The 4x100-meter relay, which included sophomores
Oren Henderson-Zintz (Madison, Wis./La Follette),
Jake Schneider (Plymouth, Wis./Plymouth), freshman
Dwayne Ford (Racine, Wis./Case) and Witt, tallied one point with an eighth-place finish in 41.10 seconds.
Other competitors Saturday included senior
Matt Green (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) and sophomore
Zach Jasinski (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton). Green finished 12th in the triple jump with a 47-09.00 (14.55 meters), and Jasinski recorded a height of 15-03.00 (4.65 meters) to tie for 16th in the pole vault.
The Warhawks' 10th-place finish is the team's fourth straight among the top 10 and fifth in the last six years.
