Zane Navratil (Racine, Wis./The Prairie School) has been selected to the 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District® 6 Men's NCAA Division III At-Large First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Navratil carried a 4.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale as an undergrad and is finishing up his first semester in the Master of Professional Accountancy program. He graduated suma cum lauda (highest academic honors) last December with a bachelor's in accounting.
District 6 includes institutions in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Navratil is one of five student-athletes from Wisconsin schools and the lone tennis player among the group of 10.
Navratil finished the 2017-18 season with 13 singles victories and a 15-13 record in doubles, competing primarily at the No. 1 position in both. He helped lead the Warhawks to a 16-9 dual record during the season.
Navratil is currently ranked No. 13 in doubles in the Central Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association with playing partner
Jimmy Engelhart (Brookfield, Wis./East). He was recently honored as a 2017-18 UW-Whitewater Chancellor's Scholar-Athlete.
For his career, Navratil is a three-year member of the Wisocnsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Scholastic Honor Roll and a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete. He helped lead the Warhawks to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances (2015, 2016, 2017).
Navratil earned the Public Company Accounting Overnight Board Scholarship as UW-Whitewater's top accounting student in 2017. He was also a member of Beta Alpha Psi and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and was a volunteer coach and Fairhaven Senior Services visitor.
By virtue of his first team all-district recognition, Navratil is eligible for Academic All-America® honors, which will be announced in mid-June. The at-large category includes the following men's sports: fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.
