The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team began its journey in the NCAA Tournament Friday morning, hosting Concordia (Wis.) at Premier Tennis and Fitness in Janesville.

The No. 34-ranked Warhawks (20-6) defeated Concordia Wisconsin (20-6) in a 5-0 dual.

The Warhawks started off in doubles with a trio of victories, only dropping two games among the three matches.  Seniors Bridgid McGuire (Slinger/Slinger) and Jillian Wallace (Crystal Lake, IL/Central) set the tone with an 8-0 sweep in the first slot, before the Warhawks took both the Nos. 2 and 3 matches by 8-1 margins.

The Warhawks continued to battle in singles.  Wallace dominated the fourth slot in 6-0, 6-0 fashion, while junior Gabi Kitchell (Wausau, Wis./D.C. Everest) clinched the dual in the first singles match with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.  The dual was played to decision.
