The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team dropped its final regular season dual against Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Sunday morning.
The Warhawks (16-9) fell 8-1 to the No. 40 ranked Kohawks (22-5) in the road affair. The loss snapped a three-match winning streak for the Warhawks.
Starting off in doubles, seniors
Grant Thompson (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Lake Zurich) and
Matt Zurowski (West Bend, Wis./East) notched the men's lone point on the afternoon with an 8-6 victory in the second slot. The Warhawks entered singles down 2-1, and proceeded to drop all six singles matches in straight sets.
UW-Whitewater will wait and see if it qualifies for the NCAA Division III Championship field. The brackets will be announced via press release on May 7 at 11 a.m. Central Time on the
NCAA website.
