The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's tennis teams both lost against Chicago University on Sunday at Premier Tennis and Fitness in Janesville.

The 39th-ranked women (15-6) lost in a 7-2 affair to the 10th-ranked Chicago women (15-3), while the men (13-8) fell 9-0 to Chicago men (13-3), ranked No. 3 in the nation, to round out the afternoon.

The women started off in doubles with seniors
Bridgid McGuire (Slinger/Slinger) and
Jillian Wallace (Crystal Lake, IL/Central) scoring a point in the first slot. The Warhawks dropped the second and third doubles matches. The team picked up one point in singles matches, with freshman
Paige Nierman claiming a victory in the fifth position with a 6-3, 7-6 (10-8) battle.

The Warhawk men were swept in doubles matches and singles matches during the day. Junior
Brandon Dechter (Mundelein, Ill./Carmel Catholic)Â took a set off of regionally-ranked Luke Tsai at No. 3 before being downed in a third-set super tiebreaker. Senior
Zane Navratil (Racine, Wis./The Prairie School)Â forced a second-set tiebreaker at the No. 1 position, but was outlasted.

The Warhawk women will be back in action this Wednesday at 4 p.m. against Carthage in Kenosha. The Warhawk men will on the court again at 4 p.m. this Tuesday at home against Augustana (Ill.).
