Women’s Tennis Falls in Milwaukee

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team lost a Friday afternoon dual in Milwaukee at Elite Sports Club-River Glen.
 
The no. 32 Warhawks (10-2) fell to UW-Milwaukee (4-10) 6-1 in a dual played under Division I rules.
 
The Warhawks lost the single point for the three doubles matches, dropping two out of three matches.  The lone victory came from seniors Bridgid McGuire (Slinger/Slinger) and Jilian Wallace (Crystal Lake, IL./Central), who won the no. 1 match in a 6-2 affair over Labina Petrovska and Anna Daniel Fuentes.
 
In singles, the Warhawks picked up one point on a 6-4, 6-4 triumph by junior Gabi Kitchell (Wausau, Wis./D.C. Everest) at No. 1 singles.  Wallace battled in the fourth slot, taking the second set from Agata Jurczak before being defeated in a 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 1-0 (13-11) match.
 
Women's tennis will be back in action on their Spring Trip in Hilton Head Island, S.C. starting next Saturday.  The Warhawks will play their first game of the trip against Carleton (Minn.) at 11 a.m. Central time.
